Pom Pom Flowers
Tissue paper flowers or Pom Poms (as they are known as) make great decorations, be it for a party, a nursery or as a center piece for a present. My son has two parties to attend to tomorrow (he has more of a social life than me!) and i've been put in charge of gift wrapping duty. My favorite pastime! So, without second thought I decided to create these easy as peas 'pom poms.'
All you need is:
1. Tissue Paper (any colour)
2. Scissors
3. String
4. Ruler
Steps:
1. Cut tissue paper into 10" X 7" (8" X 5" make smaller ones, try different sizes) and stack 8 to 11 sheets of the cut paper. Make 1" to 1 1/2" accordion folds, creasing with each fold.
2. Tie the center of the folds with a string tightly. And cut the tips of the tissue paper into rounded or pointy shapes.
3. Separate the layers, pulling away from the center, one at a time.
4. If you wish to hang it from a ceiling, tie a length of string to the center of the pom pom and you've got a fun piece of decor.
